When You Are Lonely . . .
my prayer for you is this:
Thank You that You are The Friend that sticks closer than a brother. I ask You to give each lonely one who reads these words the faith to believe in Your "always-there" presence.
If they have never known you before, I pray they will realize that You are waiting with open arms; that You have already paid the price for every sin of their lives; and You invite them to receive You as their Savior, Lord, and Friend & to spend eternity with You.
(If you want to know how to receive Christ, please read the note below.*)
Help those who know You and yet suffer from loneliness to go deep and commune with You inside themselves. Help them speak to You and listen to You, too.
Thank You that You have promised to be found by anyone who seeks You with all their heart. Thank You for telling us that You will never leave us nor forsake us. Thank you that there is no valley so deep that you are not deeper still and there is no heart ache known to man that You are not able to understand.
I pray that every pang of loneliness will be only a cause to seek your face. I pray that every painful rejection, betrayal, abuse, neglect, or abandonment will be a reminder of your faithfulness and a motivation to run to you.
I ask that you give each lonely person who reads this a tangible sense of your loving presence and an understanding of the reality that You are here, right now, inviting them to lean close and lay their head on your strong shoulder.
You are so full of love and moved with compassion that you weep with those that weep and then you wipe our tears, hold us close, and say,
In this world where
you wonder where you belong,
I am Your Home.
Your place is with Me and in Me.
You belong with Me,
and I'm committed to You.
I am the Friend
you have always wanted.
I am the Best Friend
you could ever have hoped for.
I will be Your Best Friend Forever.
I never lie.
So, You can trust me
when I say that
I love You."
With thanksgiving, we ask these things in Jesus' good name.
A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
*How to Receive Salvation
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16 (NLT)
You can receive salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus. He died on the cross in your place so that you would not have to pay for your sins. (And, because you could not pay for your sins!) He rose from the dead so that you can live eternally with Him in heaven with God. It was all because of love. If you know you are a sinner and you are ready to put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior, please pray this prayer with all sincerity to God:
I know that I am a sinner and I have done many wrong things. I have broken your law and deserve to be punished, but I believe that Jesus' death on the cross was the payment-in-full for my sins and I choose, right now, to receive your forgiveness because of Jesus' sacrifice on my behalf. I also receive the promise of eternal life you have given to all who believe on Jesus. I thank You for writing my name down in Your Book of Life. I praise you for loving me so much that You sent your only Son to die for me and now, I want to live for You! I look forward to growing to know You more and more. Thank You, that now, I am Yours and You are mine. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer from your heart, know with certainty that you are saved. God counts you as a righteous person now, not because of anything you have done, but because you have put your faith in what Jesus has done for you.
I praise God for your salvation and I rejoice with you! The angels in Heaven are rejoicing, too! There are many things for you to learn in order for you to know God better and to enjoy Him more. The number one thing that I want you to know is that God delights in you and He desires to have an intimate friendship with you.
Please write to me @ email@example.com and let me know of your decision. I will send you more information to help you get started on your journey with God. In the meantime, please try to get a Bible if you don't have one. The New Living Translation is a good, easy-to-read translation, and I recommend that you start reading the book of John first. I hope to hear from you soon. God bless you.
